Poly-bitching = FAIL

So, anyone Poly-related who reads this, you wanna be offended, FINE. Like I give a damn.

Do I care when I get a charictarization bullshit thing from Poly? Honestly, not really. People are welcome to their opinion and I'm certainly open about hearing it. No, what irritates me is when it's the same damn shit over and over again. Most of which is "she only talks to like 5 people." Well you know what folks? If you want her to interact with more people, then TALK TO HER. Include her in things, invite her out to things, rather then bitching about how I don't bend over backwards and whack off to the computer all day and spam everyone's posts. Some of us have lives to live from time to time. And not everyone is going to keep constantly prodding people for interaction just for shits and giggles. I won't deny that a lot of my pups need to break out of their own fandoms a bit more, but I don't have a lot of peppy friendly sorts. Which brings me to the one that most people tend to have a beef with. Rukia. YES, she interacts a LOT with Ichigo. Lots of reasons for that, and I srsly doubt I have to go into them all. Hell, that's part of why Britt and I do a lot of interaction with them OUTSIDE of Poly. Honestly, I think the thing that frustrates me most about complaints I get is that it always seems what people are expecting is to see her in the City with that little fake charming personality she always uses in Karakura. WHY? The whole purpose of that was because she had to act like a normal human. In the City, she doesn't have to do that. Everyone KNOWS who and what she is, so why the need for the facade? Sure, she uses it sometimes, the girl's a pretty accomplished actress, but she's got no REASON to spend an inordinate amount of time like that in the City. Which brings me to my second point that I hear about more than I think people realize. "She's too angsty/moody/etc." Alright, I went back and checked through her posts, just to see if I'm missing something, and the last time that she actually posted or said much of ANYTHING that could be construed as broody/morose/etc. was way back in like May or June. The only exception, really, to that is when he DIED during that Saw curse. And did she go waxing about it on the network? NO. She waited until there was NO ONE around, and then cried a little bit, and then GOT OVER IT. God people, how heartless do you think your "strong and independent" characters ARE, that you think they're not even going to get a bit upset when the person they LOVE dies?! And Im' sorry, but even a strong and independent character has their emo periods, whether you like it or not. And as for her internalizing things, wtf is a personal journal SUPPOSED to be for, but that? Again, I won't deny that I'm guilty of fluff here and there. And that's bc I think fluff is found in ALL relationships, just to varying degrees. I would also like to point out that nearly everything I do with a character -- whether stated or unstated -- has reasoning and backing to it. Take the last bad curse, for example. I had a couple people ask me why the hell she gave herself up to his Hollow, rather then fight, seeing as how she's shown before that she's not one to back down froma fight, even if it looks like she'll lose. Well, children, that's bc she isn't STUPID enough to think that she can take his Hollow down herself. And before I hear cries of "well she's a lot stronger than people think", I'm well aware of that. And yes, she took down an Espada. An Espada who had been a Gillian, the weakest form. Kudos to her, she did a great job. And nearly died for it. Ichigo's taken down a couple of much higher-level Espada, all while retaining control of his Hollow. Meaning that if it was loose, it'd be even stronger. So she can fight all she wants, but there's no way she'd ever be able to actually win. And she KNOWS it. That being the case, she decided to take advantage of the situation to try and draw it out and keep him distracted long enough that he would run out of time before he completely beat her when it came down to a fight. Which is what she DID. And to those "emo!" criers, she didn't even emo over it. EXCEPT on her own, where no one could see. Was she emo at Ichigo? No. She was frustrated and angry with him brooding over it because to her, it was just "what had to be done", not to try and defeat him, bc that wasn't ever her real goal, but to keep him there hopefully until the curse wore off and therefore minimize the collateral damage.

Either way, I can't help but find it amusing, in a way, that I spend my days writing Ichigo and Rukia-centric fanfiction, and playing her in several other places, and the ONLY place I ever hear complaints is from Poly. Which is odd, considering I play her much the same way EVERYWHERE. And it's also amusing considering at least 75% of the reviews/concrit/etc. that I get everywhere else laud just the opposite, and praise me for my characterization. Doesn't quite make sense, does it?

But then, that seems to be the way things are in Poly. Everyone's got a problem with someone. And no one has the guts to just come out and say it. Sad, really, that the world is so full of cowards. Honestly, if you're going to complain that someone doesn't interact enough outside of their crew, then how about actually trying to draw them out? Have one of YOUR characters make friends with them. I bet I'll hear a lot of cries of "oh, it wouldn't be IC for mine to do ..... " Well gee, join the damn CLUB. That's part of why I'm looking forward to the upcoming all-Poly plot, so that I can hopefully get my crew more out of their comfort zones.

Which brings me to my other point with this post. Consider this Neko's personal HMD thread. But THIS one has a few rules to it. Basically, you got a problem with me, got a problem with my characters, then feel free to say it, be as plain as you want. Only catch is, you better back up your issue with some proof. And "I don't think this is how this is" don't qualify as proof. Oh, and Annonymous? Yuo are NOT welcome here. Those without the balls to show their face? You can go fuck yourselves, bc you're in MY little internet world now and I don't HAVE to be fucking nice. I can promise you that I'm not going to browbeat anyone over their opinion, and that anything valid that comes with a burden of proof will certainly be considered. Doesn't mean I'll take to it, but you're not going to be ripped apart simply for voicing your opinion.

Neko also likes people to be ballsy and not hide behind anonymity.

Personally Neko, from your fanfics, I think you write her well. I admit however that I am no expert in the field and thus my opinion can hardly be called valid.

As for this plot thing I'm hoping Poly will bloody post it so that I can incorporate it into the bloody Gin app I've got written and bloody waiting in the wings. If anything it looks like it will go over well except for how I'll handle emo-ing but at least we both know he's free-roaming and over-friendly to the point that I can choose to bump in and surprise someone else's circle if I so bloody choose. Yay for a Grey lines good/bad guy.

I'm not a player in Polychromatic, but I go there and read your stuff (I mostly read the Bleach, Trinity Blood, Hellsing and Yami no Matsuei stuff/charas), and I absolutely LOVE your characterization of Rukia. I feel its so terribly in character.

And I am seriously weirded out people would think she's OOC. :(
