Introductions and Crap

Alright, finally got this baby working. So, like I said in my other LJ at hanyou_ahzrei , this particular LJ is designed to be a place for me to post fanworkings. Most of these fanworkings are going to be of the Naruto variety, it being my favourite anime/manga. This will also be the LJ that is connected to the various fandom communities and such that I plan to join. That being said, I hope everyone enjoys the fanworks that I put here, and I will try to place a link to them into my regular LJ so that people can find them to go and read/view. Please have fun and enjoy the wonderful fandom and crack.


Oh btw, a few Naruto fandom things and terms that some people might not be familiar with:

OTP = "one true pairing" - refers to the couple or pairing of a fandom that you find to be best/favourite/etc. In my case, I have many OTPs, but my top one is NejiXHinata.

FST = fan-sound-track. Just like it sounds, a soundtrack made by fans. Usually has to do with a specific character or pairing.

Mary-Sue = a character who exists solely to form a plot device. Usually has some sort of secret powers/horrible secret/tragic past/etc. that somehow connects them to the main character in a way that serves no purpose but to otherwise showcase the Marysue. Marysue's usually always have the "one secret technique" or "hidden power" that will be the key to everything, regardless of what the canon may say. They are also irritating.

Narutard = This one's not too hard. Obviously, a VERY dedicated fan of the series. Not to be confused with "fanbrat", which is the n00b version who only watches the dub and makes stupid assumptions and arguements without having all the information. True Narutards are simply very dedicated fans who tend to know everything there is to know about their particular fandom.

SasuNaru Vs. NaruSasu = Not really a specific, but when you see an OTP reference like that, it DOES matter whose name is first. The person whose name is first is represented as the seme (dominant/top) in the pairing. Hence why it's NejiHina and not HinaNeji. Because Hinata would never be the dominant one in the situation.

Well, there are certainly more "fandom" references, but I think those are the ones that are most commonly used with Naruto fandom. That should help anyone who isn't caught up on their Naruto stuff.

ADROS - Chapter 1

Alright, so since this LJ is for fanworks, I might as well POST some, huh? So I guess I'll start with ADROS. Well, what I've got done of it. ADROS is my NejiHina fic, and is my baby. That means don't flame it or I'll hurt you. Constructive criticism is certainly welcome, as long as it isn't a "why are you doing X, it's weird" or some other crap like that. So anyway, here's ADROS.


A Darkened Ray of Sunshine (ADROS) is a currently-in-progress Naruto fanfiction that centers around the NejiXHinata pairing. It is set several years post-Timeskip, at a time when Neji is 19 and Hinata 18 years old, respectively. The basic premise of the story hinges on Hinata's journey as she runs away from Konoha and her feelings for Neji, and finds herself cast into a very different role. Floundering, when an offer of dreams fulfilled comes from a most unexpected source, she grabs onto it and makes a new start. But all of that is thrown into chaos by the arrival of the very thing she sought to escape. Neji.
I warn all prospective readers that ADROS is not necessarily a happy story. It's certainly not tragic, but it's definitely bittersweet. Unlike most stories involving Konoha shinobi, this one is actually set in Otogakure. It also portrays the Sound village in a much different light, peeling back the layers of secrecy and showing it as it really is. A fanciful Babylon of sorts, a kingdom of tremulous hopes and dreams woven with darkness and poised on the brink of destruction. ADROS follows Neji and Hinata's fates as they become inexorably entwined in the final days of Otogakure and paints a picture not only of the fate of the world, but of the struggle of the lives that are thrown into the midst of a brutal war. And that's what ADROS is. A story about war, and the struggle to live and survive within it. That being said, please enjoy the fic.
