And in other news....

So yeah, life is a tiny tad less sucky. Kan-chan is still in town, which is win, we might go to the fair tomorrow if Nii-sama can get us free tickets. Which would rock, cuz I love the fair but have so NOT monies to go. Had the day off yesterday, so me and Kan-chan and Oro-sama got all dressed up in loli and went out photo-ing. Which started as just a photoshoot, but turned into this whole long thing. Oro-sama's gonna make a photo-story out of it and post it up, so when my email decides to WORK and send her the pics, I'll make sure to link to it. We did most of them with my new camera (which is made of awesome and win) bc it has this totally swanky colour-accent setting so I can take a black and white photo with like a red rose in colour or something like that. And yeah, I could do that in photoshop but it's so much cooler to do it with the camera.
Fanfic-muse is happy lately, because I finally got Path to Heaven finished so now I can get on with all the little one-shot challanges I've been meaning to write. Already got 3 out of the way, 3 more to do, picked up another request from a writing meme (no, NOT the kink-meme although I DO have one from there that I might do as well. XD) So expect more fics over the next week or two, then I will hopefully settle back into a sense of relative normalcy fic-wise and NOT do the whole "dry spell" thing where I have like 4 half-written ones that I haven't finished that are taunting me.
Oh, and in total randomness I LOVE my new default icon. IchiRuki cuteness FTW.
I actually found something that irritates me. Like that's anything new, right? And actually, this isn't really something new, it's more like a reaffirmation of WHY something irritates me and what about it specifically irritates me. In this case, it's characterization critique. So, people do this for nearly all RPGs and such, whether it be an OC or a canon character. And most of the stuff that people say about OCs is pretty on-the-mark most of the time. Either way, I troll
bad_rpers_suck every once in awhile, just to remind myself why I am glad to have such things as common sense and decency. Trust me, it feels nice. Anyway, the thing that I always run across when someone's bitching about a canon character tends to be "I just can't see ________ getting together with ____________". I'm sorry, but what? That is not critique. That is "your OTP sucks, mine is better". Ok, so I can totally see how you would think the psychotic raving killer falling for the sweet innocent bubbly thing would not make sense. But that line of thought DOESN'T work when it's just a matter of you don't like the canon pairing or the pairing that is the most popularly canon. I mean, take Naruto as a "sample canon". So let's say player X is playing Naruto and they choose to pair him with Sakura, played by player Y. Something like "I just can't see Naruto getting together with Sakura" is not a critique. "I think Sakura acting like a little housewife and such for Naruto is bogus" IS. See the distinction? Come on guys, obviously if you don't support a pairing, it might not make sense to see it played out, but that's not the purpose of complaining about someone. Just because you think Ichigo should get with Ishida does not mean that I should be able to say "that's just totally bogus and wrong" if the Ichigo in question is being played LIKE ICHIGO. I mean yeah, if you told me you think Ichigo has the hots for Ishida, sure I'm gonna look at you like you've lost it. But if you want to play him that way, and can keep him acting the way Ichigo acts, then more power to you, go ship your OTP. It just seems so frustrating when the majority of "crit" that you get isn't "your chracterization slips here." and is "I don't think _____ would get with _______". It's the whole reason why I refuse to take part in Poly's "how's my driving" critique when they put it up. Besides the fact that I feel annonymous complaints are insulting, I'm not about to try and wade through a bunch of BS just because people might not want to see the same pairing I play to. And that's the other thing. What is up with annonymous complaints? I mean, if you have enough of a problem to complain, you should have the balls to complain to someone's face. I honestly lose so much respect for people who use the annonymous shit because it's just plain rude. And I don't have any problem with saying that if someone doesn't have the guts to stand up and look me in the face and say "I have a problem with __________", then I feel no need to worry at all about their problem.
K, done bitchranting for now. XD
